I looked for something to play with my dusty old controller from the drawer which will also work in browser. I liked the description. But this exceeded my expectations. The feeling of freedom with the controls, the sync with music makes it a piece of art.

Finally I found a game here that works on the newest mac (M1) and OS. However, the game does not recognize my already-plugged-in-xbox controller, nor any controller. :(

This is such a great game!

(+1)

(+1)

(+1)

best time w kittens was a little under 9 min and best time w out kittens was a little over 5 and a half minutes :D

(+2)

so cute! i like the visuals, and the music is also very entertaining. the mechanics feels very nice too, the dash feels nice too. but i always mistake z as c, since i play celeste classic alot. none the less, great game!

cute kitties :3 (they remind me of the berries in celeste lmao)

(+1)

I really enjoyed playing this game, it's super cute. I missed one cat sadly.

(+1)

AMAZING!!! It was pleasant and  nice experience. Thank You very much for Your work and letting us feel this story.

ps: You made me a reason of a lot kittens disappear in bottom screen , Why You made Me do this?!))

Very captivating and FUN! Great Job!

Fresh and enough challenging to be interesting and not to hard to be boring - sweet spot. Cool pacing.

THANKS EVERYONE who was involved in creating of such a nice game.

Hi Breather! I <3 this little game! very creative. My cats have layed next to me while I've played it lol..  I'm curious if your going any further with this game? if not, that's fine.. but it'd be cool to see more of it :}

(+1)

This is super fun game! Thank you for taking the time to build it :)

Also, would it be possible to rebind keys? C is hard to remember for jump, I keep hitting dash (X) on accident.

Nice job!

(+1)

I love the music on the first level, this game is so cute

pov your to lazy  to download it and got to level 3 and cant save

(+1)

I simply cannot get over the soundtrack. So gorgeous.

Yes, and I love that the music in level 2 progresses with you.

(+2)

super polished, but the ability to rebind the controls would be great. for some reason my mind can't wrap around C being jump

(+1)

There is something very wholesome about rolling around as a cute cat while the music plays in the background and matches your pace.  Thumbs (and paws) up!

(+1)

I gave this game is a go and I like it,

The grab roll is awesome and feels natural.

(+1)

its so smooth! the controls are so buttery. i hope you guys go far and make tons of metroidvanias! and i hope you guys get completely rich doing it. great job devs

(+1)

nice game, only played the browser versions first level so far.

given my european keyboard layout, the Z key is not left of x and c, but rather up there.
no big issue, but I cosntantly feel like the curl and jump button should be switched around.

being able to rebind controls would be nice :-)

The game is quite abstract in the environments but the important thing is the music and how it feels to control the kitten, in general it is controlled well with the stick but the direction pad does not seem to detect it well, apart from that the sensation of speed that is interesting is one can reach in the game and the second zone that reacts noticeably is interesting to listen to.

I liked the concept even though I think the levels could be polished a bit so that the music sounds better when climbing (for example in a rest or holding a suitable note), but the concept is quite striking.

Really fun game! I'd recommend anyone reading this to play the downloadable version if they can. The 3D visuals are fantastic and really add to the experience.

What slightly bugged me was how the music kept going at an uneven tempo in the second part based on how you move, since I kept dying and couldn't listen to the next part of the song. It's a decent incentive to beat the game, though. Music's good. Is there a way to listen to the second track on its own, at an even tempo?

Howdy, I’m glad you enjoyed it. The music in the second level is a (very slightly rearranged) version of this arrangement of Liebestraum No. 3 by Varun Athilat.

I recorded an arrangement of the song heard in game, you can listen to it here on SoundCloud

(+1)

Thank you!

(+2)

damn it, I missed 1 cat -_-

Aside from that, that's an Interesting little thingie

(+2)

I was fascinated by this game.

But I don't have any pc, so I can only play this on browser. Can I save the data?

(Sorry I am not good at English.)

Howdy, the only data saved for the game are best time records and player settings. These are both saved automatically in both the browser and downloadable versions.

(+1)

Thank you for your quick reply.

Ok. I think it's hard but I'll try to clear all stages.

This game is very fantastic!

(+2)

Out of curiosity, is there a way to rebind controls? I love how the game looks and feels but would love to rebind dashing to a trigger instead of X if possible.

(1 edit) (+1)

Sorry, currently there is no option in game to rebind the controls.

For the downloadable desktop versions, I would recommend using Steam to rebind the controls via the following steps:

  1. In your Steam Library, add Synesthesia as a non-steam game
  2. Right-Click Synesthesia in your Steam library
  3. Select Manage > Controller Layout from the dropdown menu
  4. Click edit layout and configure the controls to your liking
(+1)

I beat the game with only 1 dash :)

Help, I can't find the cyan cat in the first stage, could someone help me? I'm surprised no one else couldn't find this cat.

(+1)

in the second pool in the tutorial dash upwards from the water

(+4)

I returned to the dog flower after finishing the game, stopped just before the exit screen and turned back.

My best score is 3:36:72 any%

4:02:27 for all kittens

4:12:90 for 13/14 rip

(+2)

Oh wow, what a fun concept with a lot of potential!

The mechanics are awesome and the controls are smooth. I also like what you did with the cat spritesheets and how you edited them. The rolling is so cute :) And the looking up animation <3 I would love to see this become a full-fledged game.

My main issue is that I want the game to have a cohesive art-style. Right now it's a bit all over the place and hurts my eyes. Otherwise this is great!

A simple concept executed very well.

(+1)

Everyone this is the seethingswarm from the credits, they made the cat and kitten sprite sheets used in the game. If you enjoyed them here, you’ll probably enjoy their other work as well.

  1. how do you get past the dash in any direction part? I can't jump that high even though I dashed. Helllllllllllllpppp.
(2 edits)

BreatherGames hotline here, you can dash while in mid-air. Try following up a jump with a diagonal dash.

(1 edit)

Umm...how do you do it if you're on the computer? Also, i'm trying to get to the red line

(1 edit)

The longer you hold c the higher you jump, that should get as close to the rail as possible before you dash. Then, in midair, hold the up and left keys at the same time and press x to dash diagonally. When you are close to the rail, hold z to to grab it.

(+1)

Thanks! BTW, I love this game.

(+1)

Yay! I did it. Thx for helping me.

(1 edit) (+2)

I love this game!Is wonderful!(sorry my English is not very good)

I returned to the station after finishing the finale, and the dog withered......

(+1)

Wow! This is a very cool game! :)

(+1)

(+3)
